Main objective of the project is the creation of a sustainable and replicable model of economic and entrepreneurial exploitation of the research results. The activities are aimed at spreading and introducing in firms, operating in two Italian geographical areas, the province of Como and the province of Messina, innovative energy technologies already developed in the field of public research and promote, always in the same two geographical areas, the set-up of new high-tech enterprises based on the results of public research. It will stimulate the development of enterprises in the missing component of 2 strategic industrial sectors: nautical and living (including furniture, construction, etc..). The project starts from a state of fact: the strong specialization, in these two areas, of competencies and highly synergistic integration between the nautical and living sectors. Both sectors are affected by important research projects aimed at energy saving and energy efficiency and diversification of energy sources (in terms of storage, transport, and energy management). Putting together the two territories, we intends to create a system of comparison and exchange aimed at enhancing research on energy systems that might be of mutual interest for the two sectors. The project activities are involving companies and research centres working in the field of innovative energy technologies of the two provinces, providing system and exploiting the results of research, know-how, innovative entrepreneurial experiences. The project will attempt to facilitate an exchange of expertise between North and South of Italy, in a win-win system, to stimulate the growth of expertise, promote the transfer of good practice and encourage enterprise creation through mechanisms of spin offs. The project involves five partners: four settled in Messina (Sicily) and one from Como (Lombardy). The partnership include: -Institute for Advanced Energy Technologies "Nicola Giordano" (ITAE) is a institute of National Research Council and has its headquarter in Messina. The strategic mission is mainly aimed at promoting and developing innovative energy processes and technologies with a higher efficiency and a lower environmental impact -Confindustria Messina is the local branch of the main organisation representing Italian manufacturing and services companies. -University of Messina - Centro Attrazione Risorse Esterne e Creazione d'Impresa (CARECI) is a centre established by University of Messina to consolidate and reinforce a strong relationship between the University and the territory and facilitate relations with public bodies, companies and research centres. -Innova BIC is an innovation support services providers, and is a full member of E.B.N. (European Business Innovation Centre Network). Innova BIC acts as technology transfer agency for the development of the territories through training, project management, strategic consultancy, etc.. -ComoNExT STP is a science and technology park located in Como. Its main objective is to transfer and spread knowledge by acting as an interface among universities, research centres and businesses established in the park.
