Abstract

We give a review of our numerical results on the effect of randomness and nonlinearity on optical forces. For random media we find that disorder induced localization enhance the light induced mechanical effects; for nonlinear media we show that an ultra-fast nonlinear polarization may give a negative contribution to the optical pressure.
