A novel method of optical wavelength conversion based on linear optical phenomena is demonstrated. The method exploits the electro-optic and photoconductive properties shown by CdTe:In crystal to perform a direct, non-coherent conversion of a lower-power 1310 nm modulated signal beam into a 1550 nm beam. A preliminary experimentation validates the principle and points out the main parameters involved in the conversion.

Abstract
A novel method of optical wavelength conversion based on linear optical phenomena is demonstrated. The method exploits the electro-optic and photoconductive properties shown by CdTe:In crystal to perform a direct, non-coherent conversion of a lower-power 1310 nm modulated signal beam into a 1550 nm beam. A preliminary experimentation validates the principle and points out the main parameters involved in the conversion.File in questo prodotto:
