Reviewing selected applications of the recently developed SiliaCat catalyst series to synthetic organic chemistry, we show the large applicative scope of these multipurpose sol-gel entrapped catalysts, which are increasingly adopted for manufacturing useful products such as active pharmaceutical ingredients, cis-only hydrogenated fats, silanes, anilines, fragrances, and emollients.
