An experimental measurement system for noise mapping was created in Pisa, in order to promote citizens' participation in noise policy as requested in European directive 2002/49/CE. The system uses low cost wireless noise sensors, hosted in houses of Pisa citizens who may require the installation of a measuring system at their apartment, with the aim of sharing the measured values in a virtual community. Measured in the facade noise levels are posted in real time in the website of the project www.senseable.it and also on Facebook and Twitter social networks while all historical noise data are collected in a central remote server. Results, materials and methods after one year of continuous monitoring are presented in this work. © European Acoustics Association.

Abstract
© European Acoustics Association.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
