Our communication will concern mainly the specific scientific result obtained by CNR group. In particular, the recent results will be presented in the section of Life support: management and regeneration of air, water and food. A brief overview is summarized here: o Development of innovative techniques abatement of highly toxic gases in the air, in industrial plants and in confined environments (indoor). Currently working on filtration systems of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) from waste recovery systems used on spacecraft. o Development of techniques based on natural zeolites for the removal of pollutants from waste treatment systems and their use as a soil improver for growth of plants. o Development of equipments for the continuous evaluation capacity of VOC abatement processes based on solid and liquid materials. o Analysis of the surface characteristics of solid materials by Atomic Force Microscopy. o Abatement of the microbial charge in materials and foods. o Characterization of chemical substances and their use in mini mechanical actuators useful for energy containment.
