New technologies offer powerful tools (GIS, WebGis) able to manage a large amount of information and to represent it in multi-thematic and multi-scalar way, allowing to fully understand the characteristics of the territory from several points of view: geological, natural, historical and so on. The synergy existing between public institutions and voluntary associations, such as G&T, deriving from the use of these technologies, enables a distributed management of land resources. It becomes a key resource for the enhancement of geodiversity, the promotion of the landscape conservation and for sustainable tourism. Information management systems and set up databases, are now essential tools to provide the basic elements both for thematic maps output and for their simple use on App-facilities (iPhone and Android smart phones), WebGis and similar, allowing an interaction with the end-users, who can enrich the information with their own emotional experiences.

Abstract
New technologies offer powerful tools (GIS, WebGis) able to manage a large amount of information and to represent it in multi-thematic and multi-scalar way, allowing to fully understand the characteristics of the territory from several points of view: geological, natural, historical and so on. The synergy existing between public institutions and voluntary associations, such as G&T, deriving from the use of these technologies, enables a distributed management of land resources. It becomes a key resource for the enhancement of geodiversity, the promotion of the landscape conservation and for sustainable tourism. Information management systems and set up databases, are now essential tools to provide the basic elements both for thematic maps output and for their simple use on App-facilities (iPhone and Android smart phones), WebGis and similar, allowing an interaction with the end-users, who can enrich the information with their own emotional experiences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
