This volume contains selected scientific papers related to the EUROCOMB'13 meeting held in Pisa, from September 9th to September 13th, 2013. Based on the suggestions of the program committee members, we solicited 19 contributions (17 research papers + 2 surveys) which we believe reflect the high quality of the meeting. The extended abstract of all the research papers contributed to EUROCOMB'13 were published in: Jaroslav Ne?et?il, and Marco Pellegrini (editors). The Seventh European Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Applications: EuroComb 2013 Publications of the Scuola Normale Superiore/CRM Series. 2013. ISBN-13: 978-8876424748. This occasion is the opportunity to recall the European Prize in Combinatorics. The European Prize in Combinatorics is traditionally awarded biannually at EUROCOMB meetings. The award of EUR 2500 is founded with contributions of private companies, DIMATIA and academic institutions. The prize is awarded to a European researcher not exceeding the age of 35 for his/her international achievements in the field of combinatorics and related fields. In 2013, the international jury consisted of Imre Bárány, Svante Janson, and Jaroslav Ne?et?il. The jury received several nominations from individuals. By a unanimous decision the jury decided to award the two 2013 prizes. The prize was awarded to (in alphabetical order) Dr. Wojciech Samotij and Dr. Tom Sanders. The citation for the prize reads as follows. Dr. Wojciech Samotij, for his fundamental results in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, particularly for establishing extremal properties of sparse structures, and for obtaining sparse random analogs of classical results in combinatorics and additive number theory as well as counting versions of these analogs. Dr. Tom Sanders for his profound contributions to combinatorial number theory, in particular for his work on the bounds in Roth's theorem, for improvements of the Freiman-Ruzsa theorem, and for the quantitative version of Cohen's idempotent theorem. The prizes were awarded at a ceremony in the Sala degli Stemmi of the Palazzo della Carovana, Piazza dei Cavalieri, Pisa, at 17.10 on Tuesday September 10th, 2013. This volume shows the high quality and diversity of the results presented on EUROCOMB'13. This volume contains papers in random graphs, extremal combinatorics, structural graph theory, enumeration, algorithms and games, algebraic combinatorics, posets, discrete geometry and matroids, but this list is not complete either. We are happy to include a contribution from both of the Prize winners. We thank all our authors and referees for excellent work. We also thank the editors of the European Journal of Combinatorics for suggesting how to organize this traditional volume, and Andrew Goodall for his assistance in photo editing. At the business meeting of DIMATIA, it has been decided to hold the EUROCOMB'15 meeting in Bergen and we wish the organizers and all of us an equally successful meeting.
