Although recent improvement in therapy of a variety of solid tumors, the response rate to chemiotherapy in colon cancer is disappointing. In order to assess the efficiency of the biological response modifiers on the amplification of cytokines cells in colon cancer patients, we determinated the proliferative and cytotoxic effects of combinations of various cytokines on PBL from colon cancer patients. PBL of 15 patients were tested for proliferation after stimulation with IL-2, IL-2+IL-4, IL-2+anti-CD3, IL-2+IL-4+anti-CD3, and in 6 of them cytotoxic activity against K562 and Daudi cell lines and autologous tumor cell targets was assessed by chromium-51 release assay.
