In the present work, a comparative analysis has been performed between a solar cooling system and a traditional vapour compression system for the coverage of summer load demands. Both systems have been modelled by means of TRNSYS 17 software. The analysis was performed not only on a technical basis, but considering also the costs and the effect of the incentives on the use of solar energy that have been activated by several countries in Europe. The analysis was performed for the following cities representing some of the countries where incentives have been promoted: Athens (EL), Almeria (ES), Barcellona (ES), Larnaca (CY), London (UK), Malta (MT), Marseille (FR). Messina (IT), Freibourg (DE), Prague (CZ), Stuttgart (DE).
