Le site de via Neroniana à Montegrotto (Padoue), fouillé par l'Université de Padoue, est l'un desa plus importants du Aquae Patavinae. le batiment principal de la zone est une ville de l'époque de Tibère, très riche et aux proportions inhabituelles; parmi les objects découverts, 18 pièces d'agate présentées ici. Dasns cette contribution, les matériaux seront étudiés du point de vue technologique, pou ce qui concerne l'origine de kla pierre et les caracteristiques de son traitement. Ensuite, il est proposé une interprétation fonctionelle, avecl'aide des soueces iconographiques, mais aussi littéraires.

Abstract
For over ten years the Departement of Archeologiy of the University of Padua leads excavation activities in the archeological site of via Neroniana, where a huge Roman villa dating back to the beginning of the first century BC has emerged. The archaeological excavation pertains to the Aquae Patavinae Project, started in 2005.
