Transport related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have significantly grown over the past years (on average, by 1.4 % per year from 1990 to 2007) contributing in Europe by nearly 20% of total emissions [1]. 70% of the world's population will live in urban areas by 2050, but today cities try to respond to climate change through programs often in the absence of any integrated, continuous and long-term strategy [2]. For this reason European politics is addressed towards the support of transport option initiatives characterized by installation of clean innovative devices. Within the SMILE (Sustainability of Mobility by Energy and Logistic Interaction) project CNR TAE Institute is involved in infrastructure, logistic and vehicle development with the aim to reduce the impact of transportation on the cities and touristic areas. The proposed project, according to the European Union action plan on urban mobility, aims to support innovation in transport, by promoting a system based on sustainable mobility and RES (Renewable Energy Sources), and by acting simultaneously on improving logistics and distribution channels.

Abstract
The proposed project, according to the European Union action plan on urban mobility, aims to support innovation in transport, by promoting a system based on sustainable mobility and RES (Renewable Energy Sources), and by acting simultaneously on improving logistics and distribution channels.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
