Spin ntrapping with thiocarbonyl compounds is a virtuyally unexplored field, due mainly to the low stability of thioketones. Following the recent synthesis of a relatively stable organometallic thioketone, thiobenzoyltriphenylsilane, we have exploited it in spin trapping experiments and found that it is a very good polyvalent spin trapping agent which can scavenge nucleophilic and electrophilic radicals equally well, and also scavenge metal-centered paramagnetic species.

Abstract
Spin ntrapping with thiocarbonyl compounds is a virtuyally unexplored field, due mainly to the low stability of thioketones. Following the recent synthesis of a relatively stable organometallic thioketone, thiobenzoyltriphenylsilane, we have exploited it in spin trapping experiments and found that it is a very good polyvalent spin trapping agent which can scavenge nucleophilic and electrophilic radicals equally well, and also scavenge metal-centered paramagnetic species.File in questo prodotto:
