New functions are required to modern textiles: wearing comfort, durability, cleaning properties, optimized functionality for specific applications (workwear, sportswear, medical wear). Also in the case of textile industry, materials engineering and fashion designer have looked at nature as source of inspiration to create technical clothing with higher levels of functions and smartness.
