Starting with a general overview of the EU growth strategy, Europe 2020, and the EU financial tool for research and innovation, Horizon 2020, the presentation provides an original ad updated analysis of the Cultural Heritage, as topic in Horizon 2020 Societal Challenges, and tells the story of the proposal CUBRe (Culture of Underground Building as a driver for urban Regeneration) prepared for the Call "Cultural heritage as a driver for sustainable growth" (SC5-21-2016). By describing the preparation process, it gives some data for improvement in the future call. Then, it analyses the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programme Interreg Europe, the opportunities for the Cultural heritage in its 2nd Call and describes the story of the proposal HURN (Heritage-Led Underground Regeneration Network), its preparation process and future opportunities. Finally, the presentation provides an overview of the upcoming COST Association call, and the concrete potentialities of a new proposal in the field of Cultural Heritage.
