VICO AND THE MEDICAL CULTURE. HISTORIOGRAPHY AND PERSPECTIVES OF REASERCH. The loss of De aequilibrio corporis animantis has prevented the reconstruction o/ Vico's relationship with the medical culture o/ his time. However, in the writings o/ the Neapolitan philosopher it is possibile to find plenty of information, concepts and metaphors drawn from the medical knowledge. In this perspective it is possible to show the convergence but also the distance between Vico's image of man and the anthropological models belonging to the medical research at the turn of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries.
