Abstract
This technical report concerns with results for the submarine advancing with prescribed sinusoidal motions, mimic the classical maneuvering tests usually performed in the towing tank (Planar Motion Mechanism) for the maneuvering analysis of marine vessel. Numerical computations have been carried out by means of the Xnavis solver, which is a general purpose Unsteady RANS solver developed at CNR-INSEAN. For the sake of completeness, the theoretical model adopted at CNR-INSEAN is described and related assumptions and limits are discussed; the solution algorithm is outlined and the main features of the developed solver are firstly described. In the following sections the grids used, the parameters of the numerical simulations and results will be described.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
