We are witnessing a rapid increase in the availability and variety of mobile applications in audiology. This entirely new m-Health (mobile Health) branch is extremely promising and opens novel interesting opportunities for hearing professionals - but no guidelines are available yet. Our research aims at the identification of guiding principles for effective, informed use of apps by hearing professionals and their patients. Recently, we developed the ALFA4Hearing model, a novel method for the identification and assessment of mobile apps in audiology.
