The realization of subway stations in the historical center of Naples allowed us to re-examine some issues of Parthenope / Palaepoli and Neapolis' urban history. Therefore, the stratigraphic analysis of the "Piazza Municipio" urban context, based on inter-disciplinary methodology, was the starting point to reconstruct both the most significant phases of urban settlement in the area surrounding "Castel Nuovo" and to highlight archaeological signs of selected quality elements. The aim of the research is to develop a process of analysis and experimentation combining together knowledge, communication, use and valorization of the selected places with cultural tangible and intangible heritage in the historical center of Naples.

Abstract
The realization of subway stations in the historical center of Naples allowed us to re-examine some issues of Parthenope / Palaepoli and Neapolis' urban history. Therefore, the stratigraphic analysis of the "Piazza Municipio" urban context, based on inter-disciplinary methodology, was the starting point to reconstruct both the most significant phases of urban settlement in the area surrounding "Castel Nuovo" and to highlight archaeological signs of selected quality elements. The aim of the research is to develop a process of analysis and experimentation combining together knowledge, communication, use and valorization of the selected places with cultural tangible and intangible heritage in the historical center of Naples.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
