The use of reliable, representative and reproducible data for the assessment of the quality level of HVAC systems and components on seasonal basis is crucial, especially in view of the obligation of energy labelling, which will be due by the next September, and the market surveillance. An analysis on the current normative framework dedicated to adsorption chillers has revealed that no exhaustive references for this technology exist. Therefore, two test procedures for the evaluation of a performance map of adsorption chillers, both at full and part load, have been developed. Moreover, a specific experimental campaign for validation of the test procedures has been carried out by means of the test bench for thermally driven chillers installed at CENTROPROVE of the ITAE in Messina. The results of the procedure validation are here presented.
