This conference is sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and has the "in cooperation" status with the following organizations: ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (ACM SIGAPP), ACM Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence (ACM SIGAI), Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA), Asia Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA), International Neural Network Society (INNS), European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and Associação Portuguesa de Reconhecimento de Padrões (APRP). The main goal of this conference is to encourage theory and practice to meet in a single venue. This is a challenging task, due to the increasing number and variety of applications of pattern recognition
