An improved method for the subzero separation of proteins by isoelectric focusing in gels of acrylamide/ethylacrylate copolymers in dimethylsulfoxide-water mixtures is described, together with the measurements of the rate of formation and stability of the paH [protonic activity in hydroorganic solvent] gradient in gels under such conditions.
