We present here a two year temperature data assimilation experiment done with a global ocean model and the latest release of the World Ocean Atlas temperature profiles. Comparison between assimilation and simulation experiments confirm the beneficial impact of the assimilation of temperature data on the overall structure of the thermocline at the Equator.
