This work deals with a tribological study on the effects of the addition of carbon nanostructures to a conventional lubricant oil for refrigeration and air conditioning purposes. Wear tests were carried out to investigate the influence of nanoadditives concentration on anti-friction and anti-wear properties of nanolubricants. The most promising system was also tested through long-lasting experiments and on substrates having different mean roughness. A hypothesis of the action mechanisms of nanoparticles was given and the optimal operative conditions for using such systems have been identified and described.

Abstract
This work deals with a tribological study on the effects of the addition of carbon nanostructures to a conventional lubricant oil for refrigeration and air conditioning purposes. Wear tests were carried out to investigate the influence of nanoadditives concentration on anti-friction and anti-wear properties of nanolubricants. The most promising system was also tested through long-lasting experiments and on substrates having different mean roughness. A hypothesis of the action mechanisms of nanoparticles was given and the optimal operative conditions for using such systems have been identified and described.File in questo prodotto:
