The new corpus of the ancient italian lyric poetry (LirIO. Corpus della liri- ca italiana delle Origini su CD-ROM, 2. Dagli inizi al 1400, 2013) allows a diachronic survey of its lexical heritage, through five chronological and cultural phases: up to 1250, the Siciliani; up to 1294 (Guittone's death), the Toscani; up to 1321 (Dante's death), the Stilnovo; up to 1348 (the plague), the first reception of Dante; up to 1374 (Petrarca's death), the Trecento courts; up to 1400, the beginning of petrarchism. The diagrams of some relevant words show the specificity of the lyrical language in comparison with the global poetical vocabulary of the same period.
