Pt-Fecralloy structured foam catalysts were prepared by an electrodepositon method and tested for methanol catalytic combustion under lean conditions. Noble metal loading was easily controlled through the Pt deposition charge. Characterization of catalysts as prepared, after a thermal pre-treatment and after combustion tests was performed by SEM, XRD and cyclic voltammetry. Methanol deep oxidation could be ignited at as low as 80 °C, reaching complete conversion to CO2 at temperatures that decreased progressively for increasing Pt loadings.

Abstract
Pt-Fecralloy structured foam catalysts were prepared by an electrodepositon method and tested for methanol catalytic combustion under lean conditions. Noble metal loading was easily controlled through the Pt deposition charge. Characterization of catalysts as prepared, after a thermal pre-treatment and after combustion tests was performed by SEM, XRD and cyclic voltammetry. Methanol deep oxidation could be ignited at as low as 80 °C, reaching complete conversion to CO2 at temperatures that decreased progressively for increasing Pt loadings.File in questo prodotto:
