Abstract

The relative changes in density ??/? and in elastic moduli ?Cij/Cij of a sorbent film produced by exposure to a gas are shown to be useful for analysis of adsorption and desorption processes. The values of the changes are measured and compared for two different palladium films deposited on a bar substrate by thermal evaporation with and without low temperature annealing (423 K) under high vacuum (10-5 Pa). The difference between two sets of data for two films is discussed in the light of adsorption properties of the films
