Two adjacent rooms were found and partially explored in the area to the south of Temple B. These were certainly earlier than the temple, as one of the perimeter walls tur- ned out to have been cut when the northern wall of the temple was constructed. Seven late Geometric or early Orientalizing drinking vessels were deposited on the bedrock beneath the floor at the exact point where the two walls met, and the area was further delimited by slabs placed over it. This seems to be a foundation deposit made at the time of the con- struction of the large adjacent building, which therefore furnishes an important chronolo- gical indicator.

Abstract
Two adjacent rooms were found and partially explored in the area to the south of Temple B. These were certainly earlier than the temple, as one of the perimeter walls tur- ned out to have been cut when the northern wall of the temple was constructed. Seven late Geometric or early Orientalizing drinking vessels were deposited on the bedrock beneath the floor at the exact point where the two walls met, and the area was further delimited by slabs placed over it. This seems to be a foundation deposit made at the time of the con- struction of the large adjacent building, which therefore furnishes an important chronolo- gical indicator.File in questo prodotto:
