Tableware ceramic materials (common ceramics, thin walled ceramics and sigillata, I-IV century AD), recovered during the excavation of a theatre and an amphitheatre at Cividate Camuno (Valcamonica, northern Italy) were studied. Chemical and mineralogical compositions of the bodies were analysed by XRF and XRD respectively, while the chemical composition of the sigillata coatings was determined by SEM/EDS. Observations in thin section were performed for thin walled ceramics and common ceramics. Several groups were individuated: 6 for common ceramics, 3 for thin walled ceramics and 5 for sigillata. Only a group of common ceramics, a group of thin walled ceramics and a group of sigillata show comparable compositions. So, all the ceramics recovered at Cividate Camuno can be retained imported.

Abstract
So, all the ceramics recovered at Cividate Camuno can be retained imported.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
