The determination of the anisotropy field HA in magnetic materials can be quite problematic in the case of polycrystalline samples. In such cases, the Singular Point Detection (SPD) technique is the most suitable method: fast and reliable, it allows a prompt and accurate determination of HA . SPD was originally developed in our laboratory in Parma starting from the '70s and has been extensively applied especially in the study of hard magnetic materials. The renewed interest in such subject, connected with the current concerns about possible shortage in rare earth supply, make SPD a still relevant tool.

Abstract

The determination of the anisotropy field HA in magnetic materials can be quite problematic in the case of polycrystalline samples. In such cases, the Singular Point Detection (SPD) technique is the most suitable method: fast and reliable, it allows a prompt and accurate determination of HA . SPD was originally developed in our laboratory in Parma starting from the '70s and has been extensively applied especially in the study of hard magnetic materials. The renewed interest in such subject, connected with the current concerns about possible shortage in rare earth supply, make SPD a still relevant tool.
