Future Internet
To help the journal contributors to submit manuscripts that have a high chance to be accepted for publication in Computer Communications, we have identified a set of topics on which journal submissions are solicited. Furthermore, we have prepared survey papers and special issues focusing on these topics (presenting the state of the art in these fields and the open research challenges), with the aim of inspiring the journal contributors. Specifically, these works provide in-depth analyses of some of the hot topics identified in: novel Internet architecture and protocols, including Internet-of-Things (IoT), Information-Centric Networking (ICN), and Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Energy conservation, not only in the wireless part of the network, but in the Internet core; Multi-hop ad hoc networks, from MANET to people-centric networking: MANET, mesh networks, opportunistic networks, vehicular networks and wireless sensor networks, including participatory sensing; the new generation of WLANs technologies and standards and the networking challenges connected with the emergence of cyber-physical, such as smart cities and Online Social Networks.
