Abstract

NIO1 presents a too strong set of SmCo co-extraction electron suppression magnets (CESM) in the extraction grid (EG). A new set of magnets has been designed adopting a completely new solution and optimized in order to work together with the new EG [5] that will be installed next year. The finite element code OPERA 3D [8] has been used as main tool for the design of the new permanent magnets configuration.
