This special issue intends to extend research on both technological (products and processes) and non-technological innovations (marketing and organization) in agro-food value chains (Oslo Manual, 2005). It aims to publish original research that summarizes, challenges or extends existing theory and identifies areas for future research. The guest editors are seeking empirical and applied research articles, viewpoint articles, case studies and literature and general reviews which: o summarize and integrate both technological (products and processes) and non-technological innovation in the agro-food industry o challenge or test previously published research on innovation in the agro-food industry o assess innovation in the agro-food industry through qualitative or quantitative analysis o identify weaknesses and/or limitations in extant research o suggest an agenda for future research studies
