EHR 2.0 is an evolution of current Electronic Health Records (EHR) which provides an intelligent support for all healthcare providers and patients in the National Health System with the benefit of improving the quality of care and increasing patient involvement in the health care and prevention process. At the center of the EHR 2.0 the paper puts the Virtual Health Record (VHR), an intelligent resource in network that contains all the digital information available about the patient health. How the main services of the VHR were derived from the analysis of some innovative healthcare scenarios is presented.
