A dynamic approach, based on soil functional behaviour in a complex soil-climate-crop system, is proposed, in order to assess the protection capacity of the soils of the Venice Lagoon watershed. The soil water balance MACRO model has been used according to the procedure defined during the project SINA- Soil mapping in high environmental risk areas, ended in 2000. Beside this approach, a qualitative one has been followed, based on the integration between some soil and environment characteristics, such as internal drainage, soil texture, coarse fragments, organic horizons, presence of cracks, risk of flooding and slope and the groundwater vulnerability map obtained with the CNR-SINTACS method. The results which have been obtained confirm the validity of such a dynamic approach highlighting the functional dynamics of soil behaviour as related to climate and agricultural practices and pointing out the possible applications at regional level.

Abstract
The results which have been obtained confirm the validity of such a dynamic approach highlighting the functional dynamics of soil behaviour as related to climate and agricultural practices and pointing out the possible applications at regional level.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
