A partially fluorinated oligoadipamide bearing pendant PFPE segments was synthesized via poly-condensation reactions. The new product has good solubility in alcohols and hydro-alcoholic solvents. When applied and tested on Carrara marble samples, it demonstrated much higher water repellence than a commercial fluoroelastomer tested as reference material.

Abstract

A partially fluorinated oligoadipamide bearing pendant PFPE segments was synthesized via poly-condensation reactions. The new product has good solubility in alcohols and hydro-alcoholic solvents.
