Solid State NMR is a very powerful technique for characterising structural, morphological and dynamic properties of polymer-clay nanocomposites. This chapter illustrates Solid State NMR strategies, including high- and low-resolution techniques for the measurement of spectral and nuclear relaxation properties, for shedding light onto the clay/polymer interface, i.e. the interactions occurring between polymer and clay and the degree of dispersion of the clay, and onto the modification of the dynamic and conformational properties of the polymer in passing from the pristine matrix to the nanocomposites.

Abstract
Solid State NMR is a very powerful technique for characterising structural, morphological and dynamic properties of polymer-clay nanocomposites. This chapter illustrates Solid State NMR strategies, including high- and low-resolution techniques for the measurement of spectral and nuclear relaxation properties, for shedding light onto the clay/polymer interface, i.e. the interactions occurring between polymer and clay and the degree of dispersion of the clay, and onto the modification of the dynamic and conformational properties of the polymer in passing from the pristine matrix to the nanocomposites.File in questo prodotto:
