It is a well-known fact that a correlation between char genesis and reactivity exists. Nevertheless, there is a lack of clear understanding how oxidizing pyrolysis conditions, which are typical for pulverized combustion in technical applications, influence char reactivity. In contrast to typical pyrolysis studies, which are carried out in inert atmospheres, present oxygen may lead to a further increase in near-particle temperature and increased heating rates. This study provides preliminary results on this topic considering both coal and biomass samples.

Abstract
It is a well-known fact that a correlation between char genesis and reactivity exists. Nevertheless, there is a lack of clear understanding how oxidizing pyrolysis conditions, which are typical for pulverized combustion in technical applications, influence char reactivity. In contrast to typical pyrolysis studies, which are carried out in inert atmospheres, present oxygen may lead to a further increase in near-particle temperature and increased heating rates. This study provides preliminary results on this topic considering both coal and biomass samples.File in questo prodotto:
