P. acerifolia, known as Londan plane, is a bybrid between American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and oriental plane (P. orientalis). It is a fast-growing tree and is widely planted in gardens, parks and urban areas in Europe. It is attractive, can withstand wind, and can tolerate urban air pollutim. Its climatic adaptability far surpasses that of the parent species. It is also valuable for the production of timber and fuelwood, and for soil conservatiom and erosion control. London plane is not very susceptible to anthracnose, but it is strongly susceptible to canker stain, a destructive disease that can kill a tree within a year.

Abstract
P. acerifolia, known as Londan plane, is a bybrid between American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and oriental plane (P. orientalis). London plane is not very susceptible to anthracnose, but it is strongly susceptible to canker stain, a destructive disease that can kill a tree within a year.File in questo prodotto:
