The great development of robotics opens new scenarios that information technology law has to deal with. Europe finally has an interest in the Artificial Intelligence and with the European Parliament resolution of 16 February 2017 gives recommendations on civil law rules on robotics and on a general, legal and ethical reflection, too. In the European member States, Italy included, an extensive parliamentary debate is now open. The legal, economic and ethical issues must take into account that by now robots are rapidly marching towards an autonomy that go beyond the threshold of intelligence and perhaps they will reach a form of consciousness. For this reason we should talk not only about electronic legal entities, but also about subjectivity even if reduced.

Abstract
The great development of robotics opens new scenarios that information technology law has to deal with. Europe finally has an interest in the Artificial Intelligence and with the European Parliament resolution of 16 February 2017 gives recommendations on civil law rules on robotics and on a general, legal and ethical reflection, too. In the European member States, Italy included, an extensive parliamentary debate is now open. The legal, economic and ethical issues must take into account that by now robots are rapidly marching towards an autonomy that go beyond the threshold of intelligence and perhaps they will reach a form of consciousness. For this reason we should talk not only about electronic legal entities, but also about subjectivity even if reduced.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
