On the basis of the archives, databases, dictionaries, and authorial lexica, which ILIESI-CNR has been offering to scholars since 1964, the paper considers a series of moments in the history of thought from ancient politeia to modern cosmopolitism. These moments point out the philosophical implications inherent in the polysemy of the trinomium ius-lex-corpus.
