Abstract

Carbon nanomaterials are one of the most extensively studied nanostructures because of their unique properties. The progress in synthesis, processing and in the knowledge of the properties of carbon nanomaterials have opened a completely new world of applications. In this talk will be presented a few multidisciplinary research studies developed in the last years having as common thread carbon nanomaterials. In particular, the presentation will be focused on the use of carbon nanotubes in algal biotechnology and on nanodiamonds in the development of superconductive materials. Finally, new perspectives on the use of carbon nanomaterials in cultural heritage restoration and preservation will be discussed.
