BioJerker is a research and development project aiming at biological and medical applications. It relies on the collaboration between two institutes of CNR and DAIMAR, a research spin-off. It is funded by the European Union through the Sicily Region. This tool will integrate the potentialities of atomic force spectroscopy with those of a high contrast optical system. BioJerker, by probing the mechanical properties of single cells (elasticity and adhesion in the first place), will hopefully tell us about the health of the cell.
