BioJerker is a research and development project aiming at biological and medical applications. It relies on the collaboration between two institutes of CNR and DAIMAR, a research spin-off. It is funded by the European Union through the Sicily Region. This tool will integrate the potentialities of atomic force spectroscopy with those of a high contrast optical system. BioJerker, by probing the mechanical properties of single cells (elasticity and adhesion in the first place), will hopefully tell us about the health of the cell.

Abstract

BioJerker is a research and development project aiming at biological and medical applications. It relies on the collaboration between two institutes of CNR and DAIMAR, a research spin-off. It is funded by the European Union through the Sicily Region. This tool will integrate the potentialities of atomic force spectroscopy with those of a high contrast optical system. BioJerker, by probing the mechanical properties of single cells (elasticity and adhesion in the first place), will hopefully tell us about the health of the cell.
