The present paper catch a glimpse of measures related to energy efficiency arising from the implementation of BAT with regard to energy efficiency in some Italian chemical installations. On this purpose, data on IPPC-IED permits published on the Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea web-site, the so called "AIA Portal", were analysed. However, the information provided show that it remains a potential for further improvements.
