The application of many different techniques, i.e. experimental measurements of sound power levels, sound pressure, sound intensity, structural vibrations, sound characteristics impedence, fluidborne noise together with pump FEM modeling and computational analysis, applied to external gear pumps are explained and their sensitivity considered for a noise optimizatin procedure and the achievement of the best trade-off between acoustic and functional performance.
