In this contribution, the results of the study on mortars and plasters from the St Philip Church in Hierapolis are presented. The analysed samples were selected on the basis of function and chronology from the masonries of the three naves, recently exca- vated. Bedding mortars of walls of early and middle Byzantine phases, external and internal layers of plasters, bedding mortars of different floors were selected in order to identify the composition, the used raw materials and technology, also evaluating their state of conservation.
