Abstract

Seaweed extracts as biostimulants in agriculture proved able to mitigate abiotic stress, such as drought, and extreme values of salinity and temperature. In this respect, climatic change impact on agriculture fostered the sustainable production of algal biomass. For this reason, the cultivation of Hypnea cornuta (Rhodophyta, Gigartinales) was tried, testing both entire thalli and propagules as starters. Cultivation from propagules showed better results.
