We present an all-optical device for drawing micro-droplets based on the illumination of a lithium niobate substrate with patterned films of gold nanorods included in polyvinyl alcohol. The pyro-electrohydrodynamic force generated by laser illumination is able to extract microliter drops from a liquid reservoir.
