On the basis of recent and successful applications of Agar gel in the cleaning operations of stucco and polychrome stucco artworks,1,2,3 an innovative cleaning methodology is proposed and tested. This consists in combination of laser radiation produced by Nd:YAG source at different wavelengths (532 and 1064 nm) and different pulse widths (from tens of nanoseconds till hundreds of microseconds) applied through Agar gel prepared in different concentrations and different modalities. Such system relies on potential advantage of synergic action of two well-established cleaning means in which agar enables also the removal of the dirt penetrated into the materials' porosity. Agar gels are, in fact, applied where the amount of water is to be confined into superficial artworks' layers.

Abstract
Agar gels are, in fact, applied where the amount of water is to be confined into superficial artworks' layers.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
