In the present work we describe recent developments in the realization of a novel device for monitoring continuously a patient after a cerebrovascular event. The proposed technology is microwave imaging (MWI) exploiting the difference in dielectric properties of ischemic and hemorrhagic areas with respect to the other tissues present in the head. The goal of our work is to realize a prototype device that can be complementary to other imaging techniques, as support for physicians in the choice and control of therapies.

Abstract
In the present work we describe recent developments in the realization of a novel device for monitoring continuously a patient after a cerebrovascular event. The proposed technology is microwave imaging (MWI) exploiting the difference in dielectric properties of ischemic and hemorrhagic areas with respect to the other tissues present in the head. The goal of our work is to realize a prototype device that can be complementary to other imaging techniques, as support for physicians in the choice and control of therapies.File in questo prodotto:
